the musts of classic new york: visit the empire state building, amazing view, really! go to the guggenheim, the moma, the rockefeller center, flatiron building near union square, ... and all the other "classics".. don´t visit the statue of liberty, not worth doin´that!
we recommend: take a break in the beautiful bryant park, that´s nice, walk through grand central station, visit one or two of new yorks churches, feels like in europe. go to columbus circle and take a picture like the beastie boys.... go to noho, soho, greenwich village and harlem, where the underground train gets an overground train, there you can see the old construction of 1904 or so. take a ride through brooklyn, and most important: WALK over brooklyn bridge (1.8km), 100 times better than driving...

amazing city! the musts of the modern part: apple store near central park, hudson hotel (58th street), "designed" by philip starck, is worth to stay there! in lower east side/east village, visit the "forbidden planet comic store" if you´re addicted to comix and stuff..! take lunch/dinner at the eatery (9th ave?), rent a bike for one day (go to 8th ave, pay not more than 25 dollars!), take a ride through central park to the hudson river, down to downtown and through greenwich village, go back uptown in the middle of rush hour on broadway or so, thats fun! avoid the abercrombie store, it´s just loud and employees are just good looking models without any clue.... WALK through new york as much as you can, but take the opportunity once or twice to go by subway-trains. if you are a jazz fan, don´t expect too much of the birdland.... the food is good but the glory days are gone....! visit ground zero and think about it one minute, how it looked before 2001. avoid starbucks and take the opportunity to try better ones like europan e.g.. take a romantic dinner at the boathouse in centralpark, if you want to get married, ask right there...:-) !

2 amazing weeks at the ENDO SURF camp in tamraght, 20km north of agadir. nice swell, nice weather, nice people, nice atmosphere in the camp-house....and a lot of kreuzkümmel in your food..! things to do: a pizza in taghazout, surfin at banana point before sunrise, day trip to essaouira, bike trip to aourir, meet gerrit....

one of the nicest places to go snowboarding....nice weather, nice snow.. and no tourists before Xmas!!! spend beautiful 2 days there, check out pension weinberger in the center, try the pizza in the lürzer alm, spend your lunchbreak in the sport treff 2000 eating leberknödelsuppe and a fresh apfelstrudel.

2 days in cali....flying one day, 2 days LA, flying back 1 day(LA-ATL-MAN-MUC=24hours!!) matt, thanx for picking me up and for the knife...all in DCC, thanx for showing me the studio and sta. monica. gana, raoul, julian j., brian, was nice to see you again. trends of the motorshow: white cars, big wheels, low fuel consumption, gas free, hybrid, small cars.

so, der bikesommer is langsam vorbei, nochmal ein paar letze schöne wochenenden zum abradeln. walchensee-runde is ein echter geheimtip, nur 700hm und 2-3 stunden lang, idyllisch am see aber auch mit schönen trails wieder runter ans ufer, und dort kann man sich auch gut einen schweinsbraten danach genehmigen...vielleicht wirds ja noch was mit biken, aber die snowboardsaison steht schon vor der tuer...

hardangervidda, jotunheim, regen, natur, thanx for the fish, die dame des hauses reicht räucherlachs...hhmmmm....und bei dritten anlauf hats auch mit dem gletscher geklappt! oslo ist auch immer eine reise wert, genauso wie rügen, wo man in 30km auch 400hm mit dem mountainbike schafft! ausserdem weiss ich jetzt, wo beim T4 der abwassertank verbaut ist und wie man gegen verstopfung vorgeht (genie!). achtung wanderer: der norweger wählt immer den direkten weg von punkt zu punkt, und achtung statistiker: wenn es 3 wochen hintereinander regnet ist es nicht sehr wahrscheinlich, dass es nicht nochmal 3 wochen regnet.....

finally, we found the holy grail. pollenca, mallorca, super landschaft, tolles dörfchen, berge, biken. und kirchen ohne ende, der heilige gral entpuppte sich als kühler gerstensaft inmitten belebter spanischer umgebung der tempelritter. auf jeden fall: norden rules, osten sucks, süden palma, westen schöne küste.

springbreak?? schnee am karwendel anfang juni, naja glück gehabt, vorher heiss, dann kälteeinruch, schlechtwetter...wir hatten genau das fenster von 2 schönen tagen, oben dann 40cm schnee, hinten runter deshalb keine chance. trotzdem supertour und am nächsten tag isartal bei 25^c, naja das wetter in den alpen...

endlich fertig!!!! wieder mal doch noch geschafft, das showcar fertigzukriegen, da war die reise zur premiere in shanghai zwar auch anstrengend, aber auch eine völlig neue erfahrung......china, shanghai, eine andere welt...und aus westlicher sicht: achtung vor den chinesen, kopieren ist der anfang, daraus lernen und neues kreiren die logische fortsetzung. zwischen skyscrapers, bars "on the bund", einer skyline ohne vergleich und kolonialer jahrhundertwendehäuser gibt es auch mittendrin in dieser 18millionen-metropole das alte shanghai, old-town, french quarter usw, wo man beim essen sich auch schon mal einfach überraschen lassen muss, was da genau auf den tisch kommt, wo der normale chinese seinen aal, seine taube oder aber auch seine für uns teilweise unbekannten gemüse und pilzsorten kauft.
alles in allem eine unglaubliche unvergessliche erfahrung mehr im leben.

endlich biken...winter ade, ostern hat die bikesaison eingeläutet, 4tage, 4 touren, cappucino, pizza und copa bike in der wind bar in torbole...hhhhmmmmm

eigentlich wollten wir von der CBR zur Austtellung von ANDREAS GURSKY in münchen, war leider schon zu, da hab ich am eisbach bei der stehenden welle noch dieses foto geschossen.....
